The Churchville Fire Department runs Explorer Post 422, and has since 1986. Our explorer program is intended for the youth of the community. The explorers are “junior fire fighters,” who train in all the same areas as our fire fighters. Explorers meet once a week on their drill nights (Wednesdays), or occasionally the FD drill nights (Mondays). The explorer program is an excellent way to learn not only fire related information, but also common characteristics such as leadership, courage, and respect. Explorers are allowed to respond to certain emergency calls and ride fire apparatus with the FD. The age range for our explorer program is 14 – 18. The explorers are lead by our own fire fighters. Many of our current members started out in our explorer program, including some of our own FD Officers; Fire Chief: Scott Flagler; 2nd Deputy Chief: Andy Vargo; Captain: Chris Buss. If you are interested in obtaining an application, please visit the fire department on Monday nights from 7:00 – 9:00.
