Our Fire Police members drive their personal vehicles to emergency scenes to control the flow of traffic as to not interfere with the emergency. Fire police members also barricade the public and media from gaining access to the scene. The members are given proper NFPA attire and equipment for their safety, as that is number one priority. New fire police members are suggested to take a fire police training course that is provided by Monroe County. Fire police are vital components to ensuring the safety of an emergency scene. Fire police meet once a week on Monday nights at a monthly meeting or to drill, either on own as group or with the FD.
